Founded in 1992 by Shawn Doherty under the name of "Doherty's Construction Waste Management," the company set out to pioneer a new, innovative approach to the collection and handling of construction waste materials from job sites for recycling.

Collecting materials, source-separated for recycling, instead of all mixed up or co-mingled, enables builders to save significant amounts of money on construction projects, by avoiding disposal costs and improving their work flow by promptly moving waste out of the way of real construction activity. C.W.M. became Washington State's first full-service construction site recyclers, providing complete on-site consulting and services for the efficient hauling and recycling of virtually all types of recyclable materials and miscellaneous debris.
